Are you looking forward to get yourself a new camera? Well, this dude might be something for you:
The good old Nikon D750. This guy went through a bunch of adventures already ? With this article I would like to share you my thoughts and experiences about the Nikon D750 ?
Why the Nikon D750 is awesome
As one of the full frame cameras by Nikon the D750 got some awesome features on board. The camera itself is the lightest FX camera by Nikon – a pretty good thing if you need to carry the camera around in your bagpack. Also the D750 is build with a 24MP sensor – which is far enough for amazing high quality images.
My favourite about the Nikon D750 from the technical side are the following features: it is offering on board WIFI and it is having an eye focus system.
I am using the WIFi feature quite often when I’m traveling around. Posting on Instagram and Facebook got easy as I don’t need a computer anymore, I can transfer the shots directly to the phone.
The eye focus system was actually the main fact why I bought this camera. In terms of animal and people photography there is one key to get awesome photos: the eyes should be the focus spot. Focusing the eyes can be pretty challenging with a f1.8 or f1.4 aperture. The D750 and the automatic eye detection feature helped me a lot to set the focus better and get sharpener results. Thanks Nikon for that 🙂
Another good thing that comes along with the D750 is the autofocus system (AF). The camera comes along with a built in AF motor which is important if you’re having lenses without an included motor (like most of the older lenses).
Furthermore the AF works in any conditions. I’m shooting the camera now for around two years, always looking for new technical challenges. The AF works in any conditions between -30° Celsius up to + 30° Celsius (-22° Fahrenheit up to 86° Fahrenheit), no matter if day or night time. The camera is basically performing well in any natural conditions with any light.
[For those of you who are interested into more specific technical details about the camera head over to Ken Rockwell, he’s explaining all the technical things.]
Is the Nikon D750 the right thing for outdoor photographers?
As my photography focus is more the creative and the story telling part I believe that technical stuff does not matter in order to get a good shot. Most of the technical aspects can be measured in a laboratory, but who cares about them when it comes to outdoor photography.
The only thing that matters when it comes to outdoor photography – the camera must work in any conditions out there. It most be stable and robust, no matter what is happening. That’s why I decided to go along with the D750. This camera is perfect for any adventure and outdoor photographer. It is fast, the focus is amazing, the image quality due to the full frame sensor just incredible.
Enough talking, I would like to show you some of my recent shots that are taken with the Nikon D750 🙂
Those are a few example shots taken by the Nikon D750 with the Nikkor 18-24mm f2.8 and the Nikkor 50mm f1.8D.
Let me know your thoughts about cameras and equipment down in the comments, I would love to hear what kind of feedback you are using! 🙂
Rock on,
Ingmar
